Safeguarding is the name given to individuals and organisations working together to protect and promote the safety and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

At the Four Stones MAT, we take safeguarding very seriously-the safety of our students is paramount. All adults who regularly work at our schools are required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to prevent unsuitable people from working with students. All visitors are closely supervised when on site.

All members of staff receive Safeguarding training with key team members overseeing any concerns as Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Our aim is to be as transparent as possible, to share safeguarding concerns with relevant personnel to ensure we are providing a ‘safe’ environment for students and staff alike.

Throughout the academic year, our pastoral teams plan and deliver varying foci to students through assemblies, guest speakers and tutor group activities to develop their own understanding of keeping safe and supporting each other during difficult times; to include topics such as Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), online grooming, e-safety, anti-bullying, anxiety, exam stress, Prevent and more.

We committed to the highest standards in protecting and safeguarding the children entrusted to our care.

We will further support students by:

  • Promoting a caring, safe and positive environment within each Academy
  • Encouraging self-esteem, self-discipline and self-motivation
  • Effectively tackling bullying and harassment.
