At all the schools in the Four Stones Multi Academy Trust, the priority is to deliver face-to-face, high quality education and a full curriculum to all students.
However, there are still likely to be occasions where individual students have to self-isolate. Not all people with COVID-19 have symptoms and therefore, in line with government guidance, we will support those who need to self-isolate (because they have tested positive) to work or learn from home if they are well enough to do so.
The remote education provided will be equivalent in length to the core teaching students would receive in school.
All work will be set using the learning platform used in each school. We will mostly use pre-recorded videos, online resources and tasks. It may be possible to join some lessons live. Accessing the work will require an internet connection and an appropriate device for students to work with. All of our schools are able to support with the provision of appropriate devices and any other technical queries. Please contact the relevant school office for help should you need it. Our attendance teams will regularly check-in with students who are at home.
We will work collaboratively with families and put in place reasonable adjustments so that students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) can successfully access remote education.
We remain prepared to return to full remote education packages should the government restrictions require it.
All of schools have a common approach to homework. We support daily reading (at least 30 minutes, daily Hegarty maths tasks and quizzing using knowledge organisers, revision guides or books. These are additional to the lesson resources set via the learning platform.
There are a variety of other resources that can be accessed by students to support and supplement their learning at home.

Although self-isolation may only be for a short time, students may feel lonely, find it hard to get motivated or be concerned about their mental health.
The following link gives useful ideas for students to manage their remote learning time:
How to learn from home effectively (innerdrive.co.uk)
If students feel that they need mental health or wellbeing support during the school closures, Kooth is a web based confidential support service available to young people. Kooth provides a safe and secure means of accessing mental health and wellbeing support designed specifically for young people.
